The whole town was in panic because of the everyday looting, Decoity,
Boot-legging and Rape. The local police havin been unable to pin down
the source of this evil had approached the higher authorities who
decided to adopt strong measures. This terrorised the people all the
more. . Realising the misery of her fellow-men a brave young girl
approached the high-ups in the police force and promised in the name of
her dead father (Who had been a very patriotic person during his
life-time) to trace the root cause and rid the place all evil.
Impressed by her solumnity the officers promised the compiete backing
and presented her with a revolver for self protection. . Next day there
appeared on the sece a rider dressed in Black on a jet black horse.
This was the Black Shadow the saviour of the oppressed and suffering and
the terror for the evil doer. Wherever was trouble or mischief the
Black Shadow appeared on the scene as if drawn by some magic. .
Simultaneous with the appearance of the Black Shadow comes back to the
town Prakash after three years stay-away. He is shot at, before he
enters the township, but is timely saved by the intervention of the
Black Shadow. Sandhya the young and comely sister of Sherjung a
well-to-do youngman is extremely happy because of Prakash being her
betrothed. Roopa another young girl who too is in love with Prakash is
equally happy. The villain having once failed in his attempt on the
life of Prakash makes another attempt to end his life. The target fails
and in the darkness of the night it is Prakashs father who dies at the
hands of the assasin thus saving his son. . A regular war of wits and
weapons ensues between the evil doers and Prakash through various
complicated situations and happenings. Prakash is aided by his loyal
servant Behari and his comedian friend Jimmy s fiancee Rosy who create

Now, nearly seven years later, when I
searched for the songs of this movie, I was able to locate another song.
And what a song it turns out to be. It is an all female duet sung by
Shamshad Begam and Sudha Malhotra. Naqsh Llayalpuri is the lyricist.
Music is composed by Harbans.
Going by the lyrics, I guess that it is a
Punjabi style stage performance dance song where one female is dressed
as a male and singing in Shamshad Begam’s voice whiile other female,
playing a female sings in Sudha Malhotra’s voice.
Only the audio of this “expression of
love” genre of song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to
throw light on the picturisation of this song.
