Mother India is justly proud of having given birth to the great
Patriots like Chandrashekhar Azad. . Chandrashekhar was born on 17th
February 1905 near Varanasi in poverty stricken surroundings. His
mothers name was Jagrani Devi and his father was Pandit Seeta Ram
Tiwari. He was born at such a time when the British Government was
playing havoc with the freedom loving Congress and other organisations
and who sparing no brutakutues. . In those days, Mahatma Gandhi, the
Father of the Nation had started Non-violance Movement Boycott Movement
of all foreign goods. While the British Government was plundering the
already hungry India and ruthlessly crushing the popular demand of the
Indian masses for Home Rule, Chandrashekhar Azad started his Krantikari
Pary under the guidance of Shaheed Ramprashad Bismil. Azads name was
terror for the Police and C.I.D. Being unable to get finds by fair means
for the maintance of the party, Chandrashekhar and his party decided to
take it by force from the Government. They looted a train containing
Government Treasury which episodes is known to this day as Kakori Case
All including Shaheed Ramprashad Bismil were put behind the bars and
subjected to brutality and torture. Bismil and many others were hanged,
but Azad escaped and justified his name as Azad (Free). He was now a
proclaimed offender and a reward of Rs. 10,000 was announced for anybody
causing the arrest of Chandrashekhar, dead or alive. . In those days S.
Bhagat Singh had joined the party which had become a terrific force.
Simon Commission had stepped on the soil of India and Indians were
lining up in large numbers to receive the bullets of British police. The
train carrying Simon Commission had to be blown up with Bombs and
Shaheed-I-Azam Bhagat Singh had to attained martyredom by hanging.
