Plot :
The story begins its stupid career when Ashoks mother receives a letter which makes her cry and rush for consulation to her dead husband framed in a portrait on the wall. The protrait remains dumb and Ashok implores his mother to get it off her chest by telling him what she was crying about. After extracting an oath of secrecy, the old woman tells Ashok that Mohan, whom he thought to be his elder brother, was a notorious criminals son whom Ashoks parents had adopted because Mohans late mother did not want her son to grow up in the shadow of a criminal or to be known as a criminals son. Mohans criminal father, Birju Singh, who had promised never to cross his sons path was now asking Mohan in that letter to come to see him in his death bed. . Ashok promises not to reveal the secret to Mohan or anyone and rides out to meet Birju Singh and dissuade him from thinking of ever meeting his son. The bed-ridden Birju Singh listens to Ashok patiently and lets him depart peacefully. But the moment Ashok departs the bed-ridden person jumps out of the bed and orders another companion of his follow Ashok and it is revealed that he was one Bundoo Singh, a dissident member of Birjus gang bent on cowing down Birju by knowing his secret. Murli, the man who follows Ashok, gets into a scuffle with him and both fall down from a high wall. When Ashok regains his consciousness he finds the dead Murli beside him with a bullet wound in chest. Finding himself involved in a bloddy mess Ashok runs homeward but reaches only as far as the house of Radha in the village where she puts the wailing Ashok in bed for the night and foments his wounded shoulder. In the morning the police come to search her house saying that her brother Bansi was wanted for Murlis murder. Radha refuses to believe that her brother could have committed a murder and when she looks around for Ashok she finds him missing. Convinced that he was the murderer, Radha gives Ashok a chase on horseback and fallin down from the horse loses her sight. . Bansi is locked up in jail and Mohan, who was in the police, is assigned to investigate the murder. When Mohan discovers that Radha is the girl whom his brother Ashok was engaged, he takes her home and makes arrangements for an operation to restore her sight. Ashoks behaviour arouses Mohans suspicious and when Ashok and his mother both refuse to share their secret with Moha, he asks Radha to identify whether Ashok was the same man who stayed at her place for a night. Fearing his exposure, just before Radha is to open her bandages after the operation, Ashok runs away thus making Mohan more suspicious. On regaining her sight Radha doesnt want to admit that her future husbandis the man whom she suspected of murder. So she declares that she was still blind and the operation is declared unsuccessfull. . After a lot of involved and incoherent business, Radha reaches Birju Singhs house where he was living under an assumed name. Later Ashok and Mohan also arrive here because they think that the clue of the whole murder mystery was hidden in a romm in Birju Singhs house. How they arrived at this stupid conclusion must be Ravindras private affair becasue no one in the audience knows anything about it. Inside the secret room they see Birju loudly talking to his wifes portrait and they also hear from him that he was the murdere of Murli and Bundo Singh. When Birju fidns two sily sleuths prowling in his house, he removes the flooer inderneath them by pressing a button and they drop down into a pit which slowly starts filling up with water. At this stage the fift column moves int action and Radha orders Birju to free Ashok and Mohan at the point of a gun. . When they come out of that pit, Birju proposes to put some further struggle. But when Ashok quietly whispers into his ear that Mohan was his son he changes his mind and runs away. Mohan shoots down the escaping criminal without knowledge that he hahd shot his own father. Birju seems fairly pleased for receiving his death at his sons hands. *.* Amidst the mirth and melody of Mohans betrothel Ashoks Mother receives a letter, which is so shocking that she is not able to check her tars. Before the portraits of her husband she narrates her helplessness, which is overheard by Ashok with a promise of not disclosing the secret Ashok gets the glimpse of the letter and story concering to it. . In the distant ruins Ashok meets Bundoo Singh who is an imposter and is an imposter and is envious of Birju Singh, as he happens to know the dark chapter of his life. Bundoo Singhs plains not able to play mischief with Ashok and he escapes unurt, but is follwed by the evil - minded Birju Singh perchanes to meet the tyrant and with a whiff he finishes his foul game. But his stick and Ring is caught by the sharp eyes of Ashok who was passing that way. But the Passer is chased and in the chase the chaser and the chaser and the chased falls from a hillock and lye unconcious. . Senses return to Ashok but by his side is lying the corpse of Murli. "Who killed Murli"? is the echo and Ashok is chased by ths echo. He leaves the spot on his horseback, but falls on Radhas door-step. Radha nurses Ashok who gives his name Amar, but hearing the arrival of the police Ashok runs away. Radhas Btother Bansi is taken to be the house and gets blind. . Mohan brings Radha to his City house. Her eyes are operated upon but just at the juncture when her bandage is to be removed Ashok steets away. . He trails his way to Meenas Cottage where he happens to see the same stick and Ring again. With Meena he follows the hand woth the stick and to his great surprise finds Radha at Rajsinghs Haveli.
