Aag (Hindi: आग, Urdu: آگ, translation: fire) is a 1994 Bollywood action drama film directed by K. Ravi Shankar. It is a remake of Tamil film Thangachi.
Raju takes Laxmi with him to a small village, where he hides her from other people as she has become visibly pregnant, and changes his name to Birju. He meets with a lovely village belle by the name of Bijli, who wants to marry him. What Raju does not know is that Bijli is a plainclothes policewoman, Inspector Barkha Sharma, who has been assigned to arrest him at any cost. She does confront him, and he confesses to killing Parul's uncle, Jagpal, and Barkha calls for reinforcements to escort Raju to jail. The Inspector in charge of the reinforcements is none other than Suryadev — and this time he is determined to finish Raju once and for all.

Plot summary
Orphaned at a very young age, Raju lives a poor lifestyle with his unmarried sister, Laxmi, in India. Both are of marriageable age. One day Raju meets an attractive fellow-collegian, Parul, and after a few encounters with another fellow-collegian, Bobby, both fall in love. But Parul's uncle, Jagpal, has already arranged her marriage with Police Inspector Suryadev Singh. When Suryadev finds out that Parul is refusing to marry him, he arrests Raju on a charge of murder, holds him in a cell, and beats him mercilessly. Laxmi, quite dramatically, takes a gun from a policeman, and helps Raju escape so as to prevent Parul from being forcibly married to Suryadev. They do manage to arrive in time, only to find out that Parul has consumed poison and killed herself. Raju is beside himself with rage, but is captured by the police, and watches helplessly as Parul is cremated. His horrors have not ended as Suryadev sexually assault's Laxmi and leaves her in a mentally unstable condition.Raju takes Laxmi with him to a small village, where he hides her from other people as she has become visibly pregnant, and changes his name to Birju. Storyline
Raju and Laxmi are siblings, orphaned at a very young age. Raju and a
fellow-collegian Parul are in love. But Parul's marriage has already
been arranged with Police Inspector Suryadev Singh. When Suryadev finds
out about this, he arrests and imprisons Raju on a false charge while
arranging a forced marriage with Parul. Laxmi helps Raju escape but when
they reach the wedding site, they find that Paul has consumed poison
and killed herself. Suryadev then sexually assaults Laxmi which leaves
her in a mentally unstable state. Raju goes into hiding in a small
village, taking Laxmi with him and changing his name to Birju. A lovely
village belle Bijli is attracted to him and wants to marry him but Raju
is only concerned for his insane sister who is now visibly pregnant.
However, he is soon about to discover that his troubles with police are

Serious Stuff...Very Good film
Aag, meaning fire as in
the fire pain in the heart. Its a serious movie with action, drama and a
little comedy. As the title mentions, its the story of Govinda, who
stays silent and looks angry all the way through. Nobody knows why he is
like that, but as the movie follows, you find out that he is looking
after his mentally pregnant sister, who was raped by a corrupt Police
officer, who was also responsible for the death of his Girlfriend.
Govinda, went through many series of torture and police brutality. This
is among Govinda's finest and underrated work, delivering a Brilliant
performance. Shilpa Shetty is the annoying undercover police, but her
sexy good looks doesn't bother you. The very beautiful and sexy Sonali
Bendre is Govinda's girlfriend delivering a great performance. Shakti
Kapoor is the corrupt and violent police, in a superb performance full
of venom. This is a fine film, worth the watch.
