Oh Darling Yeh Hai India (English: Oh Darling! This is India) is an 1995 Indian musical parody film directed by Ketan Mehta, and starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepa Sahi, Jaaved Jaffrey and Amrish Puri. It also stars Anupam Kher in an important supporting role.
This film was highly regarded by critics as a smart and evocative satire of Bollywood cinema conventions. The rights of this film are now owned by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment.[2]
Meanwhile, Don Quixote's son Prince (Javed Jaffrey) has set his eyes on Miss India, who shows no interest in him. The night turns out to be an adventurous one for Hero and Miss India. Hero discovers that Miss India's father is a drunkard who wants her to enter prostitution, while Miss India discovers that Hero has brain tumor. When they find out Quixote's plans, they decide to save the president.
Quixote is killed and Prince takes his throne. Prince decides to continue his father's plan. Some people previously rescued by Hero and Miss India kill the fake president, pushing a hose in his mouth, causing to inflate his stomach and explode. Prince suddenly makes an entry with his henchmen. Hero, Miss India and their friends successfully overpower the cronies while Hero kills Prince briefly. When Prince attacks Hero and Miss India, causing to smash and breaks the glass, Hero and Miss India creates a parachute, taken from Prince's body. During the jump, Prince falls to his death. At the time they land over a bus' ceiling, Hero declares that he is glad to be alive. When Miss India reminds him that he has brain tumor, Hero tells her that the X-ray she saw was taken eight years ago.

Hero (Shahrukh Khan) is new to Mumbai and broke. Miss India (Deepa Sahi) is busy living it up the night she meets Hero. Storyline
Don Quixote is a gangster based in Mumbai, India. His dream is to take
control of India, and sell it at an well-attended and much publicised
auction. In order to fulfill this dream, he recruits five men - all
resembling the President of India, and asks them to undergo vigorous
training in order to take over as the President. That done, he selects
one of them, Nathuram, eliminates the other four, and arranges the
kidnapping of the President, with success. He than implants Nathuram as
the President - and the stage is set for the biggest auction in Earth's
history - when India will be auctioned to the highest bidder.

a farce on how India is being treated like a commodity
I think it was a great
fun film because it was India's first farce. It was refreshing as it was
different from the usual predictable movies with cardboard characters
and in fact won many awards in Bengal. Indians who have a sense of humor
loved it..so will you!Also Javed Jaffery and Shahrukh were great.Ketan
Mehta is an interesting director and likes to experiment with his films,
so it is always a pleasure to see what he will come up with next.Deepa
Sahi too is a good change from the usual Hindi filmy style of acting.
She dares to be different each time. Though people accused the film I
hear of being anti nationalist, if you look closely it isn't at all. In
fact it tries to say how some vested interests are hawking off the
country!
