Aar Ya Paar (now or never) is a 1997 Bollywood thriller film produced and directed by Ketan Mehta. The film stars Jackie Shroff, Deepa Sahi, Ritu Shivpuri, Paresh Rawal and Kamal Sidhu. The music is by Viju Shah. The movie is adapted from James Hadley Chase's novel The Sucker Punch, a story of passion, crime and betrayal. Most of the movie was shot in Italy.

Shekhar Khosla (Jackie Shroff) is an accounts executive, an alcoholic, and a penniless playboy. He has an on-and-off romance with cabaret dancer Julie (Ritu Shivpuri).
One day his boss talks to him to improve himself and hands him a multi-million rupee client, Veena Sanghvi (Kamal Sidhu) and asks him to maintain and strengthen relationship with this client. Shekhar meets with Veena, seduces her and marries her, while carrying with an affair with her personal secretary, Anu Chauhan (Deepa Sahi). When Veena finds out about this affair, she threatens to separate from him. Then Shekhar and Anu plan to kill her. They carry out their plan successfully, with the police concluding that her death was accidental. Shekhar finds out that Anu does not love him. To make matters worse, the police have across evidence linking him to the death of his wife.

Storyline

Not what you expect from Ketan Mehta
The director that made
"Bhav Ni Bhavai", "Mirch Masala" or even "Mangal Panday" is not even
close to being his best in "Aar ya Paar". It looks like a cheap and easy
movie he was arm-twisted into making so he sleep-walked through it. Th
story of "The Sucker Punch" has been made into a Gujarati Drama:
Shrugal. Paresh Rawal who played the inspector in the movie actually
played the crook husband in the Drama - a much more entertaining
performance than Jackie Shroff. Ketan Mehta also once more used his then
Girlfriend, now wife Deepa Sahi in the movie. She is not particularly
talented and when she tries to be sexy, she becomes laughable. Ketan
should have learned from V. Shantaram and Chetan Anand's disastrous
pampering of their spouses/lovers. The other girl who plays Meena is not
even able to read her lines convincingly.
