Judwaa (Twin) is a 1997 Indian Hindi action comedy film directed David Dhawan, starring Salman Khan in a double role opposite Karisma Kapoor and Rambha. Released on 7 February, 1997, the film was successful at the box office. The film is a remake of the 1994 Telugu movie Hello Brother, which itself is based on the 1992 Jackie Chan's movie Twin Dragons.[2]
Meanwhile, Raja's sister Krishna (Sheetal Joshi) sees local goon Ratanlal Tiger (Mukesh Rishi) son of Ratan killing an Inspector on the road and provides evidence in the court. Enraged Tiger teases her and Raja fights with him. So Tiger wants to take revenge against Raja, he sends his henchmen named Tommy (Shashi Kiran) as the bride to Krishna, but Raja breaks up the plan and makes his sister marriage with another guy. The court decides death sentence to Tiger. Days pass Krishna becomes pregnant and she is admitted into the hospital for delivery. Raja asks Prem to stay at the hospital as he is going in search of money, Prem visits his father Malhotra. At the same time, Tiger escapes from jail come to the hospital to kidnap Krishna and recognises Malhotra that he who killed is father Ratan and also knows that Raja is his son. He blackmails Raja to get Malhotra to release Krishna. Raja who doesn't know that Malhotra is his father goes to his house where Geeta also comes out from the coma by Raja's touch and he comes to know the truth that they are his parents. Finally, Raja and Prem join together, protect their father and sister from Tiger and the story ends with the duo marrying their respective ladies.
The soundtrack of the film contains six songs. The music is composed by Anu Malik, with lyrics authored by Dev Kohli and Nitin Raikwar.

Plot
Its original story is coming from Chinese movie "Twin Dragons -1992". Jayantilal 'Ratan' (Deepak Shirke) is a dacoit. SP Malhotra (Dalip Tahil) arrests him. Ratan wounds himself and is taken to hospital for the cure, where Malhotra is waiting for his wife Geeta (Reema Lagoo) who is on labour and she gives birth to twins and the doctor says that both children have reflection mentality, that means "if it pains to one other also hurts" depending on distance. Ratan escapes and takes one of the twins with him, hurting Geeta. Malhotra goes behind him, but he could not find the child but shoots Ratan. The child was grew up 12 year old he found baby girl and adopted as a sister. They grew up, the brother Raja (Salman Khan) with his friend Rangeela another orphan (Shakti Kapoor) become thieves for earning. On the other hand, Geeta goes into depression and Malhotra takes her to America for the cure, where another twin Prem (also Salman Khan) is brought up. He returns India as a rock star to give performances here. He is received by Kader Khan (Malhotra friend) who wishes to give his daughter Mala (Karisma Kapoor) to him. But Mala is in love with Raja. In the airport, Prem sees Roopa (Rambha) daughter of Sundari Batwani (Bindu) who is organising his public performances and falls in love with her. Tony (Jack Gaud) who is Sundari's brother's child also wishes to marry Roopa. Meanwhile, at home Mala advances with him thinking he is Raja only. Sequel
On 9 February 2016, a sequel to the film titled, Judwaa 2, was announced. The film will be once again directed by Dhawan and produced by Nadiadwala but will feature Dhawan's son, Varun Dhawan in the leading double roles.[5] The Trailer of Judwaa 2 was unveiled to the audiences on 21st August 2017 and the film releases all over on 29th September 2017. Storyline
Mrs. Malhotra's (Reema Lagoo) twin sons were separated at birth, so now
she only has one son beside her. Since then she has been in shock and
confined to a wheelchair in the USA. Quiet and mature Prem (Salman
Khan), one of the twins, returns to India with his father Mr. Malhotra
(Dalip Tahil) and mother Mrs. Malhotra to marry outgoing and precocious
Mala (Karishma Kapoor), who is the daughter of Mr. Sharma (Kader Khan).
There Prem meets his identical twin brother Raja (also Salman Khan) who
is a thief and also exactly the opposite in nature to Prem. A series of
comic scenes result as a result of the twins getting together. Raja
loves quiet and mature Roopa (Rambha) and both the girls are confused by
the change they perceive in their respective lovers. To muddy the
waters Tiger Ratanlal (Mukesh Rishi) has sworn vengeance against the
Malhotra family for what they did to his father (Deepak Shirke).

Judwaa is nothing
awesome, just a good time-pass flick meant to be watched when u've
nothing else to do on a rainy(or snowy in my case) day. Salman Khan
plays a double role here(judwa bros separated at birth) - one obviously
grows up to be a 'chaalu sadak chap' with a good heart, and the other is
a straight fwd. music star('bholu raam') who lacks his other brother's
balls. Salman's task is to be funny here, and considering comedy has
always been his strong suit(well, till abt 1999. He lost his mind after
that); he naturally does a good job at portraying both characters. Among
the ladies both Rambha and Karishma do a good job of showing off their
anatomies in song picturisations. The music is catchy and blends in
perfectly with the storyline. Anupam Kher and Satish Shah as the silly
but cute cops are hilarious.
Judwaa on the whole is basically a light hearted comedy featuring actors who are proved comedians. I would give it a decent 7/10.
