Summary
Prithvi (Sunil Shetty), a famous photographer, and Neha (Shilpa Shetty) fall in love and soon get married. Prithvi and Neha both fly to America for their honeymoon, but when Neha uses the bathroom at a restaurant, she gets kidnapped. Prithvi is very scared and would do anything to get Neha back. He takes the help of Lucky (Shweta Menon). When Prithvi was near a hospital he finds Neha but she has fainted, but once she wakes up she does not recognize Prithvi. The girl he found was in fact a duplicate of Neha whose name was Rashmi. Neha was threatened by her kidnapper (Faraz Khan) as she should prove him as innocent for a murder case. Prithvi and Rashmi rush to the court and say that he is not innocent and has gotten a duplicate of the girl. Prithvi finds Neha and they both live happily ever after.Soundtrack

The film could be much better
In late 90s Suneil
Shetty was going through a mixed phase, on one side doing films like
BORDER while on the other side doing JUDGE MUJRIM Prithv starts off like
a normal love story but then becomes a thriller when Sunil starts
searching for his wife who is kidnapped in US. The film has lot of US
bashing though, with Sunil criticising the country, thankfully it was
that time and now today!!!! The film does have some good scenes but many
times sticks to clichés and action scenes. The climax is hard to
digest, where our Indian hero enters a foreign court with ek minute
judge saab!!!! Still the film is watchable in parts The film was earlier
supposed to be directed by Deepak Shivdasani who was thrown out from
the film and the film was completed by Nitin Manmohan himself, result
shows Music is okay
Sunil Shetty does a decent job, though his dialogue delivery and voice jars at places, those days he was improving as an actor though and it shows Shilpa Shetty does a good job in her double role Faraz Khan(Son of late Yusuf Khan) does a decent job as a villain Suresh OBeroi in a guest appearance is okay, Navin Nischol appears in a cameo Shakti Kapoor irritates with his comedy track and why the hell have him in a 7 role appearance when one doesn't work? Shweta Menon in her debut role is fair
