Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe (translation: Is anyone going to question my heart?) is an Indian Hindi romance/thriller movie directed by Vinay Shukla released on 11 January 2002, starring Aftab Shivdasani and introducing Esha Deol, the daughter of famous actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini, in the lead roles. Sanjay Kapoor is featured as the villain. Jaya Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Juliet Alburque, Jaspal Bhatti and Rajpal Yadav are featured in supporting roles. The film is a remake of 1997 Telugu movie Pelli and 1998 Tamil movie Aval Varuvala, which were based on the 1980 Malayalam movie Manjil Virinja Pookkal and 1991 Hollywood thriller Sleeping with the Enemy.
SynopsisDesigner Aman Puri (Aftab Shivdasani) is the only son of the Puri family. His dad (Anupam Kher) wants him to marry, but Aman insists that he will not marry unless he meets the girl of his dreams. While trying to design his final project, he sees Esha Singh (Esha Deol), a fellow student at his college. Aman does his best to strike up a friendship with Esha, but she adamantly refuses him. His father, unable to see Aman hurt, decides to speak with Esha's mother, Mansi Devi (Jaya Bachchan). Mansi Devi assures Aman's father that she has no objections about Aman's intentions toward Esha. She then speaks to Esha, telling her there is nothing wrong with returning Aman's friendship.
Aman and Esha fall in love and are planning to get married. At Aman and Esha's engagement ceremony Dushyant (Sanjay Kapoor) shows up saying that he is Mansi Devi's son. Esha upon seeing Dushyant becomes extremely frightened. It turns out that Dushyant is Mansi Devi's son and Esha is his wife. On their honeymoon Dushyant attempted to get her gangraped and film the scene. Esha escapes believing that Dushyant died. She returns to Mansi Devi and tells her the truth about her son. Mansi Devi and Esha moved to another town, pretending to be mother and daughter. Dushyant vows to destroy Esha's life. Aman finds out the truth and vows that nothing can stop him from marrying Esha.
On Esha's marriage day, Mansi Devi goes to Dushyant with Kheer (rice pudding), which she has especially made for him. Dushyant not trusting her asks her to eat it first. She does and then he eats it as well. It turns out that the pudding was poisoned. Storyline
Dress designer, Aman Puri (Aftab Shivdasani) is the only son of the Puri
family. His dad (Anupam Kher) wants him to marry, but Aman insists that
he will not marry unless he meets the girl of his dreams. He does meet
her, in the form and person of Esha Singh (Esha Deol), but she will not
have anything to do with him. When Aman persists, his dad decides to go
and talk with Esha's mom, Mansi Devi (Jaya Bhaduri), who indicates that
she is open to Esha's marriage with Aman. She talks to Esha and
convinces her Aman is suitable for her, to which Esha agrees. Delighted
Aman gets ready for the marriage, when Dushant (Sanjay Kapoor) disrupts
their lives by claiming that the entire marriage is a hoax, people are
not what they seem, Mansi Devi is his mother; and Esha is a married
woman; and Dushant is her husband. Written by

Another remake of SWTE
'Koi Mere Dil Se
Pooche' is another remake of 'Sleeping with the Enemy' starring Julia
Roberts after Agnisakshi, Daraar and Yaraana.
Surprisingly, 'KMDSP' turned out to be a good remake of SWTE with its own twists and turns.
'KMDSP' is Esha Deol's debut movie. Esha is Dharmendra and Hema Malini's daughter. And surprisingly, she can emote well on screen.
Sanjay Kapoor is strictly okay. Nothing much can be said about him. He does look different in a negative role but not terrorising which his role demanded.
Aftab Shivdasani is just okay. He has miles to go to scale the ladder of success in the industry.
Jaya Bachchan was excellent. Jaspal Bhatti is as usual a nuisance.
Overall, a good movie if not excellent. Watch it if you haven't done yet.
