Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi! (Wow! That's what life should be like!) is a 2005 Indian Hindi fantasy drama film written and directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and produced by Sangeetha Ahir, starring Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao in the lead roles. It was released on 23 December 2005. It is the first Indian film to be shot in high definition (HD). It was the 12th highest grossing hindi film of 2005 and was given the below average verdict at the box office.
This film draws inspiration from the films – Mudhal Thethi starring Sivaji Ganeshan and Anjali Devi, It's a Wonderful Life produced and directed by Frank Capra, Naukri starring Raj Kapoor and Rajesh Khanna and from Hollywood films such as Ghost and Bruce Almighty.
In afterlife, he meets the Hindu god of death, Yamraj (Sanjay Dutt), a kind-hearted, emotional deity with designer clothes and a red old car. On the saying of Adi, Yamraj allows Adi to go back to Earth as a ghost to stop his evil uncle (Prem Chopra) who wants to sell Adi's mansion to industrialist Hirachand (Sharat Saxena). Adi enlists the aid of Shakti, a little boy who was being taken with Adi to heaven, in order to save his family home. They then reach at earth but no one can listen, see and feel them. They then meet Fakira bhai B.P.C.M (Arshad Warsi) who gives them power to touch humans as before they were not able to, then for his family Yamraj comes and gives him power to see his family for a couple of minutes before he takes the both of them back—Shakti and Adi. When Adi's family see Adi, they ask Yamraj to take them as well, as they don't want to live without Adi. Yamraj gets emotional and leaves him to stay with his family and the little boy Shakti also. Another day when the family members wake up they think that this was a bad dream but only Adi and Shakti know the truth, that they died and came back to life. A film actor and Yamraj's lookalike, Sanjay Dutt offers to buy Adi's property but Adi refuses to sell his property and lives happily with Priya and his family.

Plot
Aditya Verma, fondly called Adi Chachu or Adi Uncle (Shahid Kapoor) by the children of his brother, lives in a large mansion in Mumbai with his brother (Mohnish Behl) who has a drinking problem, sister-in-law, sister and grandmother. He is the only one working in the family. He falls in love with a tuition teacher, Priya (Amrita Rao). They confess their feelings to each other and plan to get married. However, while going to work to attend an important meeting, Adi is run over by a truck to save Parth (Parth Dave) and dies but again reincarnates.In afterlife, he meets the Hindu god of death, Yamraj (Sanjay Dutt), a kind-hearted, emotional deity with designer clothes and a red old car. Storyline
There are lots of Gods in Hindu India. One of the Gods is called Yama,
or the God of death. In this case Yama is asked to bring in the lifeless
body of a rich Indian called Aditya. Yama does so. On the way, Aditya
soul pleads with him to set him free and back to life again, as he has a
lot of unfinished business to attend to. Yama refuses to do so. But
when Aditya persists, Yama lets him have a second chance. He tells the
dead man that he can live, resolve all his problems within a set period
of time. Then after that Yama will come again and take his life. Aditya
is then sent down to Earth so that he can try and resolve the problems
that he had left unfinished. But Aditya finds that he cannot touch
anything, and no one can really see nor hear him. So how he is going to
solve his problems? Will Yama help him out?Aditya (Shahid Kapoor) is a
happy man: his sister is getting married, he is in love with his
sweetheart Piya (Amrita Rao) and he has recently invented a new

Nice Family Movie
If you go in expecting a
serious movie, then you need help. It is easy to tell from trailers
that it is a family/kiddie movie, nothing more. It makes you laugh a
bit, has some nice songs (and some very nice music every-time that
Yamraj is entering) and is not supposed to be the least bit realistic.
The movie is made for the family, enjoy it that way. It's one of those
where you have to leave your thinking cap at home. If you analyze it,
you'll hate it. The movie is not made to be thought of like that. The
trailer lets it be known that Shahid Kapoor is killed, and you can guess
by the story line (and by previous reviews) that he'll go back to help
his family. That's what the story is about. He has a sister, who needs
to be married off. There is Amrita Rao (once again, the actress gets
little scope), who loves him and was going to marry him or something.
All the youngsters, who just lost their older brother. Dadi, who needs
dialysis and all; and the family has no money. And the evil guys, who
all want their house. It is after all this is introduced that the movie
starts. Though the ending is expected, it still provides laughs. I still
get kicks out of Yamraj and the music that plays in the background.
