Darling is a Bollywood horror romantic thriller film released on 7 September 2007. The film, which stars Esha Deol, Fardeen Khan and Isha Koppikar in the lead roles, was directed by Ram Gopal Varma. It was shot in Mumbai, India. The soundtrack was composed by Pritam. The film was average grosser grossed Rs. 22 million in the first week.[1]
On one of their romantic excursions, Aditya takes Geeta to his friend's bungalow at Madh Island. All seems fine until Geeta shocks Aditya with news that she is pregnant. Worried, he insists that they cannot have a child together and suggests an abortion. This attitude enrages Geeta and they engage in a fight in which he pushes her. She accidentally hits her head against a hard object, the force of which kills her instantly. He disposes of her body and returns home, behaving as if everything is normal.
His former lover returns as a vengeful ghost who will stop at nothing till she gets her revenge. She appears often to frighten Aditya. Ashwini notices her husband's fear of a ghost whom she cannot see. To relieve his guilt, Aditya admits his affair with Geeta and her death to Ashwini. His wife's reaction is to leave but she is then admitted to hospital due to a major accident. Geeta returns to the frame and gives her forgiveness to Aditya. Ashwini recovers but Geeta's revengeful soul has transferred into her body.
The soundtrack was released on 1 August 2007 in many formats including music cassette, MP3 files, audio CD, and DVD-Audio. The music is composed by Pritam and Himesh Reshammiya
in a guest song. The first reviews of the soundtrack has been positive
with indiafm.com rating the music at 3.5 out of 5. Joginder Tuteja of
indiafm.com said "Darling is a good album that thoroughly
entertains while it is on."SmasHits.com said "Darling is the biggest
musical bonanza from Ramu's factory after series of miserable musical
releases from bunch of his reliable protégés in last few years."
On 10 September 2007 the film was at number 5 on the charts.

Synopsis
Aditya is seemingly living every Indian man's dream. He's married to a traditional wife, Ashwini, and has a young boy. Storyline
Wealthy executive
Aditya Soman, married to Ashwini for several years, and the parent of
Akhil, has an affair with his Secretary, Geeta Menon. Both get intimate
after he assures her that he will divorce his wife, and marry her. When
she gets pregnant, he tells her to abort the child as he has changed his
mind about the divorce. Angered, Geeta attacks him, a scuffle ensues,
and in the end she gets killed. He buries her body, and returns home to
carry on as usual. But not for long, for soon not only will he and his
family's lives will be turned upside when the spirit of Geeta returns to
exact vengeance, they will also be the subject of an investigation by
the Crime Branch.

Something new to Bollywood and OK to watch
Before I saw this movie
I was having a faint idea about what to expect. I watched the movie
with my fingers crossed after reading the reviews in news paper.
Especially after Nishabd, Aag and Shiva I was expecting this movie to be
another thrash by RGV. But at the end I like the overall movie and here
I am giving 6 rating to it. What I like about the movie is it finds
comedy in horror. I don't remember happening this before in Bollywood
movies. (Chamtkar may be ..) With the humor in it the movie makes the
audience tickle. Better not to watch it by keeping any expectations in
mind.
It has very simple story line as of other RGV movies. A well settled married man (Fardeen Khan) accidentally kills his secretary come girlfriend (Esha Deol). The girlfriend then comes as a ghost to haunt her killer. And in all this the wife (Isha Kopikar) is confused because of her husband's weird behavior.
The simple story line is no doubt has stretched by Director and script writer. Especially at the beginning, before Esha dies and then she comes as a ghost, the movie goes with a low pace. But after that I think it gets the grip.
The movie is rather funny because of some unique characters. Specially the character played by Zakir Hussaina and Inspector Reddy. Also the lady inspector character is unique and the way it has been used it is funny.
Othre than this, I also like the things Fardeen tries to get rid of ghost, but fails. It is the overall presentation of scenes and their arrangements makes the entire movie fun riding horror experience.
In all, it was a good try to give something new to Bollywood audience, and I as one will accept it. May be some time later, we see more of such experiments done, and getting success at box office.
