Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal (English: Get Set Goal) is a 2007 Indian Hindi sport film. It was released on 29 November 2007, produced by Ronnie Screwvala and directed by Vivek Agnihotri for UTV Motion Pictures. The film stars John Abraham, Bipasha Basu, Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani. The film's soundtrack is composed by Pritam with lyrics by Javed Akhtar. Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal is a contemporary fictional story of the South Asian community in the UK, told through the prism of professional football.
The film received positive reviews though the film was only moderately
successful at the box-office and was declared "Average" by Box Office India.[1] The film was premiered in the Tous Les Cinemas du Monde (World Cinema) section of 2007 Cannes Film Festival.[2][3]
The soundtrack for the film was released on November 2007. It has been given a rating of 3 out of 5 on indiaFm.com.[4]

Old Trafford the stadium of Manchester United is shown during a scene where Tony tries to inspire the players to play for more than themselves for honour, glory and pride by telling them the story of the Munich Air Disaster and how Manchester United fought through the odds. The main protagonist Sunny Bhasin (John Abraham) initially agrees to leave Southhall United Football Club (Southall a predominately South Asian part of West London) and signs a lucrative offer to play professionally for Millwall F.C. He later decides not to play for Millwall though, a notorious skinhead hooligan team in South London.Cast

Critical reception
Indiafm.com gave the film 3 Out of 5, saying that "On the whole, Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal has an ordinary first hour, but the post-interval portions, especially the exhilarating climax, makes up for everything."[5] Joginder Tuteja of IndiaGlitz gave 3.5 of 5 stars stating the film is "One more sports anthem in 2007".[6]Production

After the release of Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal, director Vivek Agnihotri announced that there will be a sequel to the film. The sequel will have the same principal cast of John Abraham, Arshad Warsi, Bipasha Basu and Boman Irani. The film is yet to begin production however, it has been confirmed by Agnihotri and Abraham. The sequel's working title is Goal 2.[11][12]See also

Storyline
Jaidev and Kavita
Bhasin live a middle-classed lifestyle in Southall, England, along with
their son, Sunny. During the mid-80s Jaidev was a huge fan of the
all-Asian Southall Football Club, and their team was very successful so
much so that it generated hatred from opposing mainstream Caucasian
teams, who attacked Jaidev and the team's star player, Tony Singh. This
spelled the end of the team, and the ground was then rented out for
weddings and birthday parties. Jaidev wanted Sunny to play for Southall,
but Sunny believed himself to be British and joined the Aston Football
Club. When the time came for selection, Sunny, often referred to as
'Paki', was sidelined. Embittered, he joined the Southall Club, and he,
and the Captain Shaan Ali Khan, as well as Coach Tony Singh, steered the
team to many victories including a place in the semi-finals. Just
before Southall team was to play against Gatwick, they get the news that
Sunny has flip-flopped again - this time he has switched to another...

A riveting sports drama from the land of Cricket
OK, first things first,
India has cricket as it's unofficial national game (kabaddi, ask any1
here and u'll get a blank face). But still, soccer is ultra popular in
West Bengal and small factions...So, the chances of this movie doing
well were always bleak, and so it didn't do well, but this film was
good....i mean GOOD...John fitted the role of a racially abused striker
almost perfectly, Arshad was a little sidelined towards the end, still
he played a matured role with enough maturity.The team was full of
oddballs, but Boman pumped them up, okay, that ManU bit was a bit
overboard, still good...U get inspired from champs, don't u...Bips was
there just for bollywood style fun...the babe in the item song was uber
hot...Arshad's wife was well casted and enacted, and the tale of
Southhall's fan was a good twist to the same old tale...The finale was
gr8...Overall, a good sports drama...and those who think what happened
to John doesn't happens nowadays, wake up idiots, don't u see what the
aussies did to India...
