Fool & Final (stylized as Fool N Final) is a 2007 Indian comedy caper film, directed by Ahmed Khan. The film has an all-star cast including Sunny Deol, Shahid Kapoor, Ayesha Takia, Sameera Reddy and Vivek Oberoi in the lead roles. Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Sharmila Tagore, Arbaaz Khan, Om Puri and Chunkey Pandey have supporting roles, whilst acclaimed boxer Mike Tyson appeared in the promos & film credits.
It was released on 1 June 2007. The film's title is a spoof on the usual tagline, "Full & Final" which means "final" in other words. Most of the film was shot in Brazil, Dubai and Muscat. The film is a remake of the British film Snatch, with which it shares the tagline too (Stealing stones and Breaking bones).

Plot

A million-worth diamond discovered in India is stolen and sent to Dubai. To pick up the diamond from Dubai Airport, Rocky (Chunkey Pandey) is sent. However, a dreaded underworld don, Moscow Chikna (Arbaaz Khan) kidnaps Rocky and steals the diamond from him. After completing his job, Moscow Chikna kills Rocky and flees. The story then twists to another underworld don, JD (Zakir Hussain) also has his eyes on the stolen diamond. To steal the diamond from Moscow Chikna, JD sends a team of foolish robbers, including Raja (Shahid Kapoor), Tina (Ayesha Takia), Chobey (Paresh Rawal) and an dimwit pilot Puttu (Johnny Lever). As they fail to rob the diamond, they witness Moscow Chikna being murdered by an unknown gangster named Gunmaster G9. They manage to steal the diamond, but refuse to hand it over to JD. They escape from JD's trap, who then sends out gangsters looking for the four idiots. To get them out of trouble, comes Raja's uncle Munna (Sunny Deol), who is also added to JD's wanted list. On top of all this, a bankrupt gambler Luckee (Vivek Oberoi) is stalking Munna to make him fight in a boxing match. Between all this confusion, the question is, who will get the diamond?

Reception

Taran Adarsh from Bollywood Hungama gave the film 1.5 out of 5, and said "Fool N Final disappoints!"^[1] NDTV gave it a positive review with a rate of 3/5. Times of India claimed "The first half of the film is a complete washout as it trudges lethargically through a series of misadventures that try to establish the identity of the lead players."^[2]

Storyline

Raja lives in Dubai, U.A.E. and is a career-criminal, partnered by his girlfriend, Tina, and her maternal uncle, Chobey. Raja also makes additional money by masquerading as Rahul, the son of Lajwanti, who was killed in an accident. Since Chobey owes money to a gangster named Moscow Chikna, Raja decides to help him out by arranging the abduction of Rocky, a jewel thief, who has a priceless diamond in his possession. If Raja and his gang do not bring this diamond to Moscow Chikna, he has sworn to cut off their arms. When another gangster, JD, finds out about the diamond, he asks them to bring the diamond to him or else he will cut off their legs. The trio abduct Rocky - only to be threatened by a London-based gangster, Chokshi, who has recruited Gunmaster G9, who has threatened to cut off their respective necks if the diamond is not surrendered to Chokshi. This is a weird and confusing movie. There is a lot of good comedy be it with Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Sunny Deol, Om Puri, Shahid Kapoor and so on. There are so many different subplots and it becomes real confusing at times. I enjoyed the laughs, but it would be a little easier if there was a sequence. There were some good action scenes, especially the one with Sunny Deol early on top of the truck and the chase was well done. Even the end was alright. I loved that punching scene, where Sunny says his famous dialogue from Damini, but with a new style. Fool N Final is not a bad comedy, just confusing. That is why I give it a 7/10.
