Synopsis
Amar Kaul (Vinay Pathak) is a 37-year-old accounts manager at a company called Suraj Pharmaceuticals in Mumbai. He is single and lives with his mother (Sarita Joshi). He lives a nondescript life with people oblivious to his existence. One day his doctor tells him that he will die within three months. Realising that his time is limited, Amar makes a list of ten things he wants to do during his life, and sets out to do them.He finds the true joys of life in a few months which was hidden all his life. After three months, at the time of his death, he leaves something for all his near and dear ones, leaving all of them happy and thankful to him.

The film received favourable reviews from critics. Martin D'Souza of Bollywood Trade News Network gave the movie 4 stars out of 5 calling it "a memorable experience, one that will leave you richer".[9] Gaurav Malani of Indiatimes Movies gave the film 3 stars, praising the cast, dialogue and scripting and recommended that the movie "should top the list of your 10 most important things to do this weekend."[10] The movie has also been referred by its pun line as "the best goodbye movie ever."[11]References

Storyline
37-year old
Mumbai-based Amar Kaul lives a middle-classed lifestyle with his deaf
and widowed mother, and is employed as an Accounts Manager with Suraj
Pharmaceuticals. His boss, Dasgupta, who is always snacking, abuses him,
and often makes him not only work late but also asks him to finish work
at home. After going through a medical check-up for an upset stomach,
he is told that he has third stage cancer and has only a few months to
live. He then sets about to prepare a 10-item 'to do' list which include
buying a car; visiting his friend, Dr. Rajiv Jhukla, in Russia; taking
guitar lessons; confessing his true feelings to Neha Banot; as well a
plan for getting back at Dasgupta. He does not know the shock and trauma
that await him when he sets about to complete this final task - and the
impact this news will have on his mother.

Disappointed ! ! !..
Yes friends I am truly
disappointed by the way people judge the movies I had once heard someone
say "Good movies wont be made until we have good audience" and I firmly
believe in the saying.I was at the multiplex today and could not digest
the fact that I had only 3 shows for a movie like dasvidanya whereas
10-15 shows for a crap movie like Dostana.. and in light of current
situation I don't see this movie to survive unless there is a strong
word of mouth publicity.
I personally liked the movie very much along with my friends,the movie had its share of sad and happy moments and this was one of those movies which you do not want to end but unfortunately they have to at some-point.
Sadly there weren't many audience in the auditorium- but no regrets. Its better to be in a bunch of quality people then to be in the dumb crowd.
Thumbs up for all the cast and direction and hopefully we will see more of the team coming soon..
