Karzzzz (English: In Debt) is a 2008 Indian film directed by Satish Kaushik. It stars Urmila Matondkar and Himesh Reshammiya. It is a remake of Karz (1980) and also inspired by The Reincarnation of Peter Proud.The Reincarnation of Peter Proud is itself inspired by indian film Madhumati The film opened very strongly upon its release, did better business compared to Aap Kaa Surroor, but later became a disaster at the box office due to its high price selling cost estimated Rs 40cr, sold to Reliance Entertainment by T-Series.
The hype created upon the film's trailer and Reshammiya's popularity
were reasons behind the high price selling cost. This news was confirmed
by Reshammiya during a talk show while promoting his film Radio on ETC channel.
During their trip, Kamini and Ravi board a plane with Ravi deciding to show her a few moves. Kamini has, however, sabotaged the plane and there is no parachute for Ravi. Subsequently Ravi crashes to his death and Kamini becomes Princess Kamini. She throws out Ravi's mother and sister making them utterly destitute.
25 years later, Monty (Himesh Reshammiya) is a sensational rock star — the adopted son of J.J. Oberoi and his wife — and has everything but happiness. His only spark of happiness is his friend Dayal (Bakhtiyaar Irani) and a girl Tina (Shweta Kumar). During a show he plays the same tune on his guitar and he has flashbacks of Ravi Verma's accident; he is informed that he could be the reincarnation of Ravi Verma.
During a trip to Kenya, Monty realizes that all the pieces are in place. He has the complete recollection of his accident but wants to find out where his mother and sister are. He befriends Princess Kamini and informs her of him being Ravi Verma. Kamini lies to Monty that his mother and sister are deceased and about the circumstances of the accident that killed him in his previous birth. She is actually an agent of Sir Judah. Monty disbelieves her but pretends to keep believing her.
Finally things come to a conclusion when Monty tackles Sir Judah. Later Monty manages to kill Kamini the way she killed Ravi. Then he and Tina live happily together.
At the box office, Karzzzz performed well in single screens especially in North India opening with 70% in first week. It was a super hit film

The film was flagged on 25 January 2008. Filming took place in Mumbai, India and in South Africa. On 16 February 2008, Himesh Reshammiya had given a live performance in South Africa of the two ultimate dance numbers namely "Sisak Sisak Ke" and "Hari Om". The sound recording was entirely done in the Singapore. Himesh Reshammiya performed his songs "Lut Jaaon" and "Ek Haseena Thi" at Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009's first show.Reception
Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama gave Karzzzz 4 stars out of 5 claiming it to be a "Mass entertainer" and further saying that "Karzzzz is rich in entertainment. Himesh's tremendous popularity amongst masses, its chartbusting musical score and the fact that it's a remake of a much-loved film will only lure masses in hordes. Besides, it's an open ground for Karzzzz at the ticket window, what with the euphoria of all past releases having dried up. At the box-office, the film should fetch a thunderous start and in due course, should be amongst the biggest achievers of the year in terms of business, Critics praised Urimilla performance in the film ."[1] Rajeev Masand of CNN-IBN gave the film one star and said "It's a lazy rip-off where everything from characters to dialogues has been more-or-less duplicated, the only changes being superficial ones which grate rather than update."[2]At the box office, Karzzzz performed well in single screens especially in North India opening with 70% in first week. Soundtrack
Himesh Reshammiya composed the film's music while Sameer penned the lyrics. The song "Ek Haseena Thi" is taken from the original movie of 1980, Karz, whose music was by Laxmikant Pyarelal. Storyline
Singer/Dancer Monty
Oberoi meets and falls in love with Tina. He then starts hallucinating
and having visions of an unknown place. His doctors advise him to take a
break and he decides to travel to Kenya, where Tina resides with her
uncle, Kabira, and guardian, Kamini. Monty experiences more incidents
and feels as if he has been here before, while Tina notices that he
appears to be more attracted to Kamini than herself. Neither are aware
that Monty will soon be entrapped in a plot that will result in his
sudden death.

Crap Movie, Waste of Time
Himesh Reshammiya is
back with Karzzz and yet again as a Music Director, Singer and the main
actor. In future he will be back as camera man, director, producer &
even light man anyways this is truly awful movie, complete waste of
time. As a singer in this movie he will be mostly well known for his
god-awful nasal twang and 2) his fake wig! It looks as if he bought that
wig from some cheap discount store in Bombay, Quite a deadly combo
don't you think. However jokes apart. His nasal twang has become
familiar in every household of India, is all set to torment the in this
film Karzzzz. Watching Aap Ka Suroor was the biggest punishment and now
he's in this movie again. If you are one of many, who think Himesh
Reshammiya looks funny with his cap on then check him out without cap in
this movie Karzzzz. I bet you will fall off your chair laughing. .
Talking about his music his lyricist won't have to do a lot of computer work. When he's writing the lyrics on his computer, he can just write 'auuuuuu' or 'owwww' and then Ctrl+c and Ctrl+V it wherever fillers are required. Except for the a,e,i,o,u keys on his computer, the rest of the keys must be a little dusty. He came in a movie 'Aap ka suroor - the movi'ee'....that's how its spelt and now in Karzzzz I don't get it why they added 4 z's at last? to add more emotions or what ?? I do not know whether he uses pathetic instruments or what but u just consider the opening music of the song "Lut Jaaon Lut Jaaon" its such a crap I mean it defines the word crap. Some argue that Himesh has had several hits but when he sings then it's like a car coming to a screeching halt. Terrible comparison there? He sounds loud, nasal, sometimes feels like crying while singing and other times makes you wonder why is he singing. God gave us nose for breathing not for singing and I personally think he is friend of Osama....he also torture innocent people and himesh also torture innocent people. Only difference is that himesh torture with his songs.... USA has taken action on Osama but we can't take any action against him...only we could do that just close your ears by your hands....Personally I look for music that has a certain amount of shelf-life. Unfortunately none of his albums have a good shelf-life of say beyond a month. If I have to go and buy an album, I'd much rather prefer an AR Rehman to Himesh Reshammiya. If you reading this himesh then concentrate on your music only and take some classes from AR Rehman or else stop giving music.
