Plot: A magical fantasy film with touches of mythology, as a powerful demon named Patalketu (Samson) forces the inhabitants of Maya Nagari to worship him as a god, arresting and torturing those who refuse.
The oppressed citizenry plead with King Shatrujit of nearby Ayodha to send his heroic son, Prince Ritudhwaja (Yashwant Dave), to Maya Nagari to destroy the tyrant. The king is hesitant to send his only son into danger, but the prince insists on helping the people. An old sage, Narad, gifts the young man with a set of magic earrings, which will help keep him from harm, as well as a flying swan, to help transport him.
Prince Ritudhwaja, with the aid of his attendants, Mor and Chakor, leave for Maya Nagari. Meanwhile, Patalketu kidnaps Princess Madalsa (Rajkumari) of Gandharva, who happens to be the prince’s sweetheart. When the demon learns that Ritudhwaja is on his way to Maya Nagari, he sends out various magic forces to try and stop him, but each time the prince is helped out of a jam by Lord Vishnu.
With the help of magic invisible beads, the trio reaches Maya Nagari, but they are captured by Talketu, the demon’s brother.
Kundala (Chandrika), whose husband had been murdered by Talketu, hopes to somehow get revenge and agrees to serve as a dancer at Patalketu’s palace. With Prince Ritudhwaja and the others having been captured, she decides that now is her chance to strike! She drugs the demon, saves the prince from execution, and then kills Talketu.
Demon Patalketu, knowing he has lost the battle, pleads for mercy, promising to stop his harassment of the citizens, and to lead a pious life.
Ritudhwaja, Madalsa, and the rest return home and a wedding is arranged for the lovers. Just as the ceremony begins, a Brahmin arrives with news that Patelketu has returned to his old habits and is again terrorizing the populace. Ritudhwaja vows to end this menace once and for all and takes off with the Brahmin, not realizing it is actually the demon in disguise!
