- Playboy Teddy Ward wants to marry artist Jeannie King; his father wants him to marry Loris Lane, but tells him he can marry his choice if he can make the Mountain Inn a profitable operation. Teddy agrees, and with his friends' support he arranges an ice-boat race with a $10,000 prize to the winner. A problem arises when his father refuses to pay such an amount. Teddy thinks one of his friends will win the race and refuse the prize, but champion racer "Duke" Slade shows up and Teddy knows he will take the money. Some movie stars show up and, while using their own names, are definitely not playing "Self" in this fictional film.

Having discovered his origins, that he has no 'soul' and is incapable of love, he revenges himself on mankind, instigating revolutions and becoming a monstrous but beautiful tyrant, relentlessly pursued by his creator-father who seeks to rectify his mistake.

- Freda Glodden, a settlement worker, devoted her time trying to improve the conditions of the people living in one of the poor sections of a great city. Several times, on her way to and from the settlement house, she had been insulted by toughs and corner loafers. Jim Boggs, a thief, happened along one time when the toughs were having their daily sport and several of their noses came in contact with Jim's fist. Naturally, Freda was thankful. She invited Jim to the settlement house and Jim came. It was the first time he had been treated as a real man by a real woman. Freda taught him to read and write. Later she helped him out of scrapes with the police and still later she proceeded to induce Jim to leave his wicked ways. Jim got a position and for Freda's sake he reformed and became a man.
- Betty Griffon delays her wedding to Harry Lindsey, because her brother Dick is late for the ceremony. Upon learning that her dear brother has been injured in an accident, Betty refuses to leave on her honeymoon until he has recovered. When Harry objects, Betty proclaims that he is insensitive and demands a divorce. To oblige his wife, Harry hires his friend Tom Robinson to testify as corespondent in a divorce case, and a separation is granted. Betty and Harry realize that they really love each other too late and decide to remarry, but are prevented from doing so by the divorce papers which forbids Harry from marrying again. They finally decide to circumvent the New York law by becoming really married in New Jersey, and all ends happily.
- Cabaret dancer Suzie La Motte (Harris) is in love with Jim Moran (King), a boxer, but she tempts a young man named John Browning (Mack). Moran and John get into a fight in which Moran accidentally shoots himself. Out of anger at John, Suzie accuses him of Moran's murder. It is only at the last minute that John is saved from the electric chair by Suzie's confession of the truth.
- This delightful burlesque of Alexandre Dumas' famous adventure narrative (and then-leading screen swashbuckler Douglas Fairbanks' hit films) represented one of writer/director/star Max Linder's attempts to conquer Hollywood on its own turf. He'd been an enormous star in early silent cinema, influencing the style of such subsequent silent comedy luminaries as Charles Chaplin and Buster Keaton. But his health suffered after he was gassed fighting for France in World War I. Despite the support of Chaplin himself (among others), his subsequent career in America never reached the popular heights he had at home. The commercial failure of this final U.S. effort seems particularly bewildering now, since THE THREE MUST-GET-THERES holds up so well. This spoof has the antic star as Dart-in-Again, a rapier-wielding dandy with a lovelorn horse (pining for the cow it left behind in the country) and a tendency to make an idiot of himself whilst attempting to conquer the forces of tyranny. Making scant effort to hide its incongruous modern Southern California backdrops, the movie is full of gags both slapstick and absurdist. Critics gratefully received it at the time. Audiences? - Preserved by Filmoteca de Catalunya, Barcelona, PIERRETTE'S ESCAPADES retains the original hand-tinting from the film's release in 1900. Director Alice Guy adapts a brief sequence from the ballet of Arlequin and Pierrette (essentially condensing much of the narrative in under two minutes) to provide some context for a little era-appropriate dancing.

Malone is killed, Black escapes and Jim is exonerated.
- A series of newsreel films from Dziga Vertov, Elizaveta Svilova, and Mikhail Kaufman which document Russian Life in the late 1910s.
- Randy Farman, who demonstrates camping outfits in a department store, wins a racing car in a raffle and sets out for the West. He runs out of gas, loses all his money, and falls in love with a girl called Doris, who, accompanied by her aunt, is on her way to Nampa City to claim an inheritance. Arriving at their destination, Doris and her aunt discover that the uncle, who sent for them, is locked up in the crazy house, having invented the entire story of the bequest. Randy enters an exhibition fight with the champion boxer and stays long enough to win the entrance fee for an automobile race at the county fair. The sheriff has attached Randy's car for nonpayment of a hotel bill, and Randy must drive the entire race with the sheriff in the seat beside him. Randy wins the race, a substantial prize, and Doris' love.

- Young author Roy Norris proposes to pretty little Mary Ford and is accepted. This is the golden dawn of their life, while the first year or more of their married life is the sweet noontime, made all the sweeter by the arrival of their firstborn. The little trio--father, mother, and baby--are bound together by the ties of that most holy love, until unreasonable jealousy possesses the young couple. While at work in his studio, the young author is visited by his wife just as he is complimenting his stenographer on her valuable aid, and from this the wife sees grounds tor suspicion. On the other hand, the young husband, seeing his wife talking to a stranger, is a bit suspicious, although the stranger is simply returning a bottle of smelling-salts his wife had borrowed, Later on, the young wife thinks she has further grounds for her suspicion and so when the author returns home he finds the house deserted and a letter addressed to him from his wife. It simply reads: "I have left here forever with the one I love." Both are innocent of any wrong, but a tragedy is narrowly averted.
